Very goodMar 03, 2009 The product is very good. And the store where i bought it is good too.
Was excited, now verrrrry disappointed.Jan 29, 2009 So, let me start by saying that I've been using cell phones for a long time, the first guy in my group of friends that had one back when they were still using pagers. The only other guy with a cell phone I could call was Zack Morris.
This phone has had the shortest life span of any phone I have owned.
And I'm a good cell phone owner. I treat them right. I've never lost a cell phone and I've never had one break (knock on wood). My phone changes have always been due to upgrades.
When I first got this phone, LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO, I was very excited and impressed with it. It's a slick phone, looks cool, thin, light, great features, slides... It worked great, looked good, people said "oooooooh"...
BUT THEN, within the first month, the cheap paint along the sides started to chip off. Yeah, it started to chip off... What the...??? I wasn't tossing it around, throwing in a bag with other stuff, or anything like that. I always keep my phone in my right pocket by itself. The keys, cards, cash, whatever else goes in the other pockets. This kind of thing never happened with any other phone I've had, especially within the first 30 days. The phone wasn't so slick anymore...
But fine, it still worked great, I could still use it... Until now... Less than 6 months after buying...
Now, (A) the speaker doesn't work. I can only talk on it using the headset. It vibrates, but no ringtone, no keypad tones, can't hear the other person on a call.
And, (B) the screen image has been backwards a few times, and I've had to turn it off and back on again. So, it ain't workin...
Basically, DON'T GET THIS PHONE. You're only in for disappointment. First, the cheap paint will chip off. Then, it'll stop working.
Thanks for the cheap quality Samsung, you bunch of jerks.
Beautiful, but a pain to figure outJan 10, 2009 This phone is a real head-turner. I never cease to get comments on it. It is probably one of the best values in a G3-capable phone, and with an added memory card (very cheap) is a great MP-3 player and high-capacity camera (both still and video).
But it really blows it when it comes to intuitive operation. It does a lot, but to figure out how to do it--UNBELIEVABLY COMPLICATED--and much more difficult than my previous Samsung phones. Simple things like changing the phone volume, setting the ring tone, or changing the wallpaper (screen background) become arduous tasks, and even with the manual take some digging around to do. You can't just pop that memory chip in either--then you have to go and activate it, and change a bunch of settings with regards to how photos and music are stored. Overall, a real pain in the backside, and Samsung should be ashamed for making it so complicated--particularly considering how intuitive some of their earlier phones are. Having all of the functionality in the world is no good if you can't figure out how to use it. And I say this as a fairly competent techno-nerd.

Stopped working.Sep 04, 2008 I bought this phone in early Feb, stopped working after 4 months. I live in Houston and have TMobile. Phone shows full bars and connected to TMobile but will only allow me to make emergency calls (911). People tell me they have beeen trying to call me but my phone hasn't rang. If you google "sgh-u700 emergency calls only" you will see this is a common problem in the US. Since it is a UK phone Samsung does not offer support for it.
